Privacy Policy

Overview
Pixel Scout is a browser extension that helps developers and designers achieve pixel-perfect implementation. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Data We Collect
Short answer: we don't collect any data.
Pixel Scout does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information stays in your browser.
Data Stored Locally
The following data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:
- Figma Personal Access Token — used exclusively to communicate with the Figma API to fetch your design files. Never sent anywhere else.
- Figma file URL and structure — cached locally to avoid re-fetching file data.
- Overlay images — design images (from Figma export or manual upload) stored as data URLs.
- Overlay settings — position, opacity, scale, and other configuration per page URL.
- Grid settings — pixel grid, column grid, and guide configurations.
You can clear all stored data at any time by removing the extension or clearing its data in chrome://extensions.
External Services
Pixel Scout communicates only with the Figma API (api.figma.com) when you explicitly choose to load a design from Figma. This requires your Personal Access Token, which is stored locally and sent only to Figma's servers.
No data is sent to any other third-party service, analytics platform, or server.
Permissions
- activeTab — to inject the overlay on the current page when you activate the extension.
- storage — to save your settings and overlay data locally.
- host_permissions (api.figma.com) — to fetch design files from Figma's API.
